Plug in wireless receiver takes up a potentially valuable USB port on your computer unlike those that utilise for example Bluetooth

The 2.4GHz frequency utilised could suffer from interference to or by other 2.4Ghz devices

Non visible laser means its easy to forget mouse switched on

The MouseWorks software needed to configure the mouse isnt provided on a disk with the mouse, instead it has to be downloaded
